A call for better recognition of the benefits people receive from freshwater biodiversity
Freshwater biodiversity conservation, human livelihoods, and sustainable development are closely linked, yet there is an increasing awareness that international policy agreements, and water resource management in general, have overlooked the importance of freshwater biodiversity and the severe and widespread threats to it. In their publication many AFL members ask for better recognition and protection of freshwater biodiversity.

Call for abstracts for the session (GOV_13.5) Towards Global Policy Implementation for Freshwater Biodiversity at the World Biodiversity Forum in Davos, Switzerland 16-21 June 2024 is now open and ends at 19th of November 2023, 6pm CET.
The publication showcases an Emergency Recovery Plan for bending the curve of freshwater biodiversity decline.
