Webinar Plan G: Conserving Mexicos threatened goodeids
Webinar Invitation: Plan G - Conserving Mexico's threatened Goodeids.
On 31 October, the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, the Goodeid Working Group, Chester Zoo and SHOAL will be launching the Action Plan for the Conservation of Mexico's Goodeid Fishes.
To celebrate the start of this urgent programme and meet some of the people leading on the work, we will be hosting a webinar. Mexican goodeids are a group of fish much loved by passionate hobbyists in the home aquarium trade, yet with more than 90% of the 40 species of Mexican goodeid being threatened with extinction, they are one of the world's most endangered groups of freshwater fish.
This webinar will be the perfect opportunity to learn more about the ambitious plans to conserve and protect this group of fishes. There will be talks from each of the speakers, a panel discussion, and time at the end for audience Q&As.
Join us on 31 October at 3pm GMT (9am CST, 4pm CET) as we hear from:
Topiltzin Contreras-MacBeath: Mexico Co-Chair, Freshwater Conservation Committee
Paul Bamford: Regional Field Programme Manager - Latin America, Chester Zoo
Michael Köck: Cofounder and Chair, Goodeid Working Group
Arely Ramírez-García: Ichthyologist, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo
